Sinapi Biomedical's thoracic drainage range covers the full pathway from emergency department insertion to ambulatory management. The systems are compact, dry-seal where appropriate, and built so that a patient can stand and walk with the drain in place without compromising the water seal.
The Levo ambulatory unit is the centrepiece: a lightweight, self-contained drain with an integrated one-way valve, clear graduated chamber and carry handle. It allows patients with a persistent air leak or pleural effusion to be mobilised early, or managed at home under review, rather than tethered to an underwater seal bottle.
The wider range includes conventional chest drainage bottles and connectors, so departments can standardise across trauma, thoracic surgery and respiratory medicine with a single supplier.

Technical
Important technical information
- Confirm the valve orientation before connection — reversed assembly compromises drainage.
- Record drainage volume and character at each observation round using the chamber graduations.
- Keep the unit below the level of the chest during transfer to prevent retrograde flow.
- Do not clamp routinely during mobilisation unless local protocol requires it for a specific reason.
- Dispose of the used unit as clinical waste in line with hospital policy.
