Extrapleural pectus excavatum correction

Ventura Medical Technologies

Pectus Up — an extrapleural technique that elevates and fixes the sternum without entering the pleural cavity.

Pectus Up corrects pectus excavatum from the front of the chest. The sternum is elevated and held with a plate and support, so the pleural space is never entered and no bar is passed behind the sternum.

Avoiding intrathoracic dissection removes the risk of cardiac injury during bar passage and is intended to reduce postoperative pain and simplify recovery relative to intrathoracic bar techniques.
